Terms Agreement Types

Terms Configuration:

We support two methodologies for providing our terms and conditions to RIA program customers.

  1. Docusign
    1. This is for partners who are not set up to be able to incorporate our terms and conditions into their own onboarding flow. With this solution, the RIA will be provided a Docusign link to share with the customer for them to confirm review of and consent to our terms
  2. Hosted terms
    1. This is our preferred approach for partners, but requires legal sign off on the way our terms will be presented to customers. Terms don’t need to be explicitly signed, rather they can be “signed” implicitly through a customer’s onboarding to the platform so long as access to the terms are appropriately provided.
    2. In this model, we don’t use Docusign and no Docusign link it required. Instead, the RIA must provide the version of terms presented to the customer and the date that the customer implicitly agreed to those terms.

Reliance Model Configuration:

This configuration was created in order to support partnerships that use full or partial reliance models. No reliance is the assumed default setting. Setting up an RIA for a reliance model requires explicit legal sign off.

  1. In a full reliance model, we don’t require document uploads and we will skip the need to perform KYC checks on our side and move straight to approval, because we are relying on the partner to perform this function for us.

  2. In a partial reliance model, we:

    • Don’t require document uploads at onboarding
    • We send KYB and individual profiles to Alloy and if we get a green light from Alloy we auto approve
  3. With no reliance model our KYC process proceeds as normal
